Wolf Run Supports The Royal Marsden
The Royal Marsden, London, is a world-leading cancer centre specialising in diagnosis, treatment, care, education and research, and is close to the hearts of all of us who work at the Wolf Run.
We were delighted recently to be able to support the continuing and tireless work of the hospital by donating £10,000 to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
As well as being a world-leading innovation centre, which pioneers new, life-saving treatments, the hospital uses its groundbreaking research every day to provide the very best in diagnosis, treatment and care for more than 50,000 patients a year.
Amanda Heaton of The Royal Marsden, said: “We are most grateful to Charlie and The Wolf Run for this extremely generous donation which will help fund pioneering work in cancer research, diagnosis, treatment and care to improve the lives of patients at The Royal Marsden and people with cancer throughout the UK and beyond.”
The charity must raise millions of pounds each year to help ease the lives of those living with cancer as well as conduct pioneering research in the Centre for Molecular Pathology and the Oak Centre for Children and Young People with the main aim being a future without cancer.
Wolf Run organiser and director, Charlie Moreton, said “It’s an incredibly difficult fact that the majority of people we know have been affected by cancer in some way, as is the case for most people across the UK. We wanted to make a donation to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity as we have seen the work that they do with patients at the hospital; it’s of vital importance both on a national and international level.”
Since our first run in 2011, we have partnered with a host of specific charities to encourage profile exposure and targeted fundraising and we have raised and donated tens of thousands of pounds to a host of UK charities including Myton Hospice and Shipston Home Nursing. In addition, our runners have raised money and awareness for more than 1500 charities.
Charlie continues, “Our Wolf Runners raise an incredible amount for charity at our events by taking part and pushing themselves to the max on our course and as an event we also have charity partners that we support at each event. However, it’s also an honour for us to support charities in their own right by donating when we can and we are delighted to be able to support The Royal Marsden.”
