Wolf Runners Inspirational Challenge
Gary Wickett, a Solihull personal trainer who challenged himself to run 28 races in 2016 in aid of Cancer Research, completed his 18th event at the Autumn Wolf Run.
This impressive personal quest started after Gary quit his job to become a personal trainer and caught the running bug. ‘I went from being unable to run up a flight of stairs without gasping for breath, to running these long distance gruelling races’ said Gary.
Since starting this new healthy lifestyle, Gary has lost more than 2.5 stone and seen a drastic improvement in his physical health. His next goal is to complete 100 half marathons in the next ten years. Gary added, ‘I am running all four Wolf Run events this year in the hope of getting the Alpha Medal’.
On completion of our toughest run of the year, the Winter Wolf at Stanford Hall on 3-4th November, Gary will earn his Alpha medal. He and his girlfriend have both lost family members to cancer and his fantastic fundraising efforts this year have been dedicated in their honour.
Great work Gray... a true inspiration to us all!
