Love at first marshal
David Moor has been part of the Wolf Run family for a long time. Three consecutive seasons completed. Alpha status earned. £3,000 raised for charity. Fifteen Wolf Runs in total. He knows this event inside out.
But nothing could have prepared him for Spring Wolf 2024.
That weekend, while marshalling on course, David noticed a fellow marshal with pink hair, a South African accent and, in his words, "an attractive soul." Her name was Megan. He was smitten. As it turned out, she felt the same way.
"Without the Wolf Run we would never have met," David told us afterwards. "We would never have realised a real soul connection. We have truly found our safe place and a love we never thought possible.”
Fast forward eighteen months to this Spring, and David is back on the start line for his fifteenth run, but this time with Megan by his side. After years of marshalling, she's finally found the perfect partner to run it with!
And it turns out Wolf Run didn't just give them each other. Along the way it also gave them Carrisa and Niki - two new friends who have become a firm and beloved part of their little Wolf Run family.
David wrote to tell us this story after the last event, without Megan knowing. Just a man wanting to share his happiness with the community that made it all possible.
