We greatly value their support, they are an integral part of the day and experience our runners receive at a Wolf Run. If you’re thinking of joining our family of Wolf Run Marshals then you may find the following information useful.
When creating your profile, to ensure your safety when working with us, please state any medical conditions we should be aware of. I.e. epilepsy, severe allergies, heart conditions etc. together with the name and number of someone we should contact in case of an emergency.
You are then ready to sign up to marshal our events. Let us know if you have preference for course marshalling, or front of house event village marshalling. We will try as much as possible to accommodate you in your preferred role.
We provide water, a sandwich and hot drinks. We would encourage you to bring your own cup/flask as by 2025 we will no longer be providing cups. Legislation is becoming stronger on the use of plastics and litter at events and the effect it has on the planet.
I would like to stress that YOU NEED TO BRING SUITABLE CLOTHING AND WELLIES for a hands on day out. Wrap up warm and bring spare layers to take out on course with you as well as a complete new set of fresh dry clothes to change into afterwards in case you get muddy or wet on course. Feel free to bring any other items that you think will help you enjoy the day and beat the weather. A bag will be useful to hold your belongings
Marshals have a dedicated break area with a bbq. Here you can picnic, drink and socialise with fellow marshals. Free camping is available at our Offchurch Bury and Stanford Hall sites.
Marshalling at a Wolf Run event can be a long and tiring day. You will be on your feet all day. We do not provide or encourage the use of camping chairs. Mostly the role will involve energetic and enthusiastic support for our runners. However, most importantly, the Course Marshals provide a medical communication network for injury response and course monitoring.
We pay our marshals expenses and offer discount to those who wish to also take part in a wolf run event.
We look forward to seeing you soon at an event.
Course Marshals
The majority of your day will be spent cheering on Wolf Runners and offering the occasional helping hand at obstacles. We need marshals out on course to report injuries and keep everyone in good spirits.
Marshals are provided with a packed lunch to take out on course as well as complimentary tea, coffee and bottled water. We also pay each marshal to cover expenses.
Event Village
If the buzz of the event village is more your thing, sign up with us to help out in a wide range of key areas, assisting Wolf Runners from Meet and Greet on arrival to handing out those all-important finisher shirts! There are a variety of positions with differing hours. Like Course Marshals you will receive a packed lunch as well as complimentary tea, coffee and bottled water. We also pay each Village marshal to cover expenses.
Fundraising - Clubs, Charities and Groups
We work closely with a number of local sports clubs and charities who bring larger numbers of volunteer marshals in exchange for a donation. This is a brilliant option for raising money for new facilities, extra kit or promoting awareness. We provide everything you need, all we need from you is volunteers.
