Absolutely - We’re delighted to support runners raising money for charity. If you’d like a link put on our website for your charity, just email us. Check out the many charities that are already on our charities page.
Can I miss an obstacle out?
Of course! You can go around any obstacle you don't want to tackle. However, you might just surprise yourself - especially when working as a team. Fellow runners and marshals are always happy to help you over, under and through, so feel free to ask. You can do more than you think!
Is there a time limit for completing the course?
There's no strict cut-off time and we're here to support runners of all abilities. That said, if you'd like to take your time and enjoy every moment of the course without feeling rushed, we'd recommend emailing us to request an earlier start time. It means you can go at your own pace and make the most of the whole experience.
Will there be medical help?
Medical support teams with fully equipped ambulances will be on site and marshals will be situated all around the course. We have military doctors who lead our team of paramedics and first aiders, as well as a team of specialist open water canoe lifeguards. We work hard on injury prevention when designing our courses and have had good feedback from our medical assessors and runners alike.
Should you become injured or ill, we will get you to a first aid station as quickly as possible. You must notify us before you take part in the Run if there is a pre-existing injury or condition that we should be aware of.

We use the fees to repair and maintain the large field used for parking and to provide temporary road surfaces when required. In return for your parking fee we offer you a discount voucher which can be used at the Wolf Run Shop on event days as stated on the voucher (not redeemable online).
Please follow the parking marshal’s directions on arrival. Please also note that there will probably be some congestion at times. Please be patient and our marshals will get you in/out as fast as possible!

Can we enter a team?
Yes, absolutely. Infact, we actively encourage it! Running with your pack can make the whole experience even better.
Share your Pack Code (found in your confirmation email) with friends and family so they can join your team and be guaranteed the same start time.
If you're entering the Wolf Run (5/10K) or Junior Wolf (3/6K), get a team of five together because the fifth person runs completely free! Just make sure all five are entered in the same transaction to qualify.
Note: the fifth free place offer does not currently apply to Wolf Trails events.
We would like to add people to our pack but we have already entered. How do we do this?
A ‘Pack Code’ was emailed to the pack creators on entry. Type this in when entering and you will be added to the pack ensuring the same start time.
I've entered but would now like to run with a friend who has also already entered. Can we be joined up?
Please email info@thewolfrun.com and let us know the date you are running, your pack code and the pack code of who you would like to join, or alternatively, the name of the person that you would like to run with. We will then link you on our system. Please note: if you would like to run with another individual, let us have a pack name for you - it’s the easiest way to link you on our system!

Where do I find directions to the event?
Directions to the Wolf Run sites can be found on each event page. Please note that there is no public transport to the run sites. The best way to get to us is by driving.
Do you offer camping at The Wolf Run?
We do not offer camping at any of our events.
Where do I go when I arrive?
You need to register and collect your run numbers at the registration tent - this will be close to the parking area and clearly signed. We recommend you arrive at least an hour before your start time to give yourself time to register, change, pin your number on, retie your shoes, find your suntan lotion and generally get yourself ready! You will be called to your safety briefing and warm up session 20 minutes prior to your start time.
Are there timing chips for each runner?
We do not use timing chips as the Wolf Run is not a race. For competitive wolves, we recommend timing yourselves - please make sure your watches are water/shock proof!
Can I have a shower afterwards?
You have the option of a cold shower! It sounds bad now, but just wait until you’re hot and muddy...
Will there be food and drink at the Wolf Run?
Yes - there will be food and drink stands at the Wolf Run start/finish area.
Can we buy professional photos of ourselves?
Yes you can. Please visit our photos page for more info.
Can we bring spectators?
Absolutely - it's a fantastic day out for the whole family!
The Wolf Run event village is the heart of the action, designed for runners, supporters and families alike. With course viewing points to catch all the muddy highlights, hot food and drinks, coffee and hot chocolate, exhibitors, shops, games, a large kids area, picnic benches and pumping tunes all day long, there's plenty to keep everyone entertained from start to finish.
The best bit is entry to the event village is completely free, so bring as many friends and family as you like!
Please note there is a £5 parking charge per car - we recommend car sharing where possible.

We understand that preparing for a run involves not only physical training but also selecting the right gear to enhance your performance and comfort. In this section, we've compiled a list of common questions related to fitness training, running techniques, and appropriate clothing choices. Whether you're a seasoned runner or lacing up for the first time, we're here to provide you with the information you need to make the most of your experience. If you have any other questions please get in touch.
How fit do I have to be to take part in the Wolf Run?
We welcome everyone - from elite athletes who power round the course, to some who walk the whole thing, and everything in between!
Choosing the right event:
Wolf Run 10K — our most demanding event. Training is strongly recommended.
Wolf Run 5K — shorter distance but still a real challenge. A great starting point if you're unsure of the 10k.
Junior Wolf — children can take it entirely at their own pace. Younger or less experienced juniors will love the 3K, while older and more athletic juniors should go for the 6K for a proper challenge!
Wolf Trails — pure trail running with no obstacles or water crossings. The 3K is perfect for families with younger children. If you can comfortably complete a parkrun you're ready for the 5K. The 10K is best suited to older and more experienced trail enthusiasts.
A few important things to know:
If you have any concerns about your fitness or health, please consult your doctor before entering.
If you have a pre-existing injury or medical condition, please notify us before taking part.
If you think you'll need extra time on the course, email us to request an earlier wave time so you can enjoy every moment without feeling rushed.
Want to get prepared? We have training plans on our website and recommend joining your local parkrun to build running confidence before event day.
Do I have to be able to swim to take part?
You don’t have to be able to swim to take part - we always give you alternatives to the water obstacles. You should be a strong swimmer to complete the lake swim during the Wolf Run - it looks a short distance but is very cold indeed and you need to be a good swimmer to complete it. If you can’t swim, there is an alternative route which runs around the swim section - just ask the marshals and follow the signs.
What should I wear to run?
This depends on the weather! Basic advice is that you will get wet, muddy and may get cold, so wear warm, light running clothing and good running shoes with good grip but without spikes - some areas are too hard/stony for them, and they are dangerous for other competitors on the obstacles. Gloves can also be a good idea. If it’s sunny weather, bring sunscreen and a hat - we really don’t recommend sunglasses as you’ll probably lose them.
Also - bring warm clothing to change into after the event and a towel!
Can I see the course before the run date?
No - the course and its bespoke obstacles are a carefully guarded secret! It is also on private land so there is no access on any other day except the date of the Wolf Run.
Will the Wolf Run be cancelled if there is bad weather?
The Wolf Run will not be cancelled unless it is dangerous to allow runners onto the course. We do not cancel the Run because of rain, cold, snow etc. - we run in all conditions as long as it’s safe!
We understand there are questions you may have particularly regarding the Wolf Junior events. We hope this should cover all of them however if you have any other questions get in touch.
How old must I be to take part?
Wolf Run Juniors must be aged 7 to 17 years on the day of the event. Adults can enter to run alongside their children by booking a ticket also. The Junior course obstacles are designed for both adults and children and medals are presented to everyone at the finish.
Can my child run alone, or do I need to buy a ticket too?
For under 12s it's compulsory that they have a registered participating accompanying adult. If not a parent, an adult nominated by a parent or legal guardian. An accompanying adult may be responsible for up to but no more than 3 children. 12-17 year olds can run with family, friends or unaccompanied as long as you have a signed guardian consent/waiver through your profile.
What time are the Junior events?
Junior Wolf and Wolf Trails take place on Sunday mornings, typically starting between 9am and 10am.
Participants set off in waves of around 100 runners every 10 minutes over a 1-2 hour period. Children finish in their own time, at their own pace but the average is around 35 mins for the 3k course.
What distance is the Wolf Run Junior?
Wolf Run Junior - The course is 3 km with the option to do a second lap (start times after 10.30 only 1 lap is possible). Once you exit the course and cross the finish line you will not be permitted re-entry.
Wolf Run Trails - 3k 5k and 10k of pure off road running.
Can an adult run both events on the same day?
Yes, most of the time this is possible. However, if you want to run multiple events on one day please let us know at info@thewolfrun.com so that we can adjust your start times to enable you to complete two events.
Is there a water stop?
Yes there will be a water stop at the half way mark and a bottle of water at the finish line.
Can I bring supporters?
Absolutely. Entry to the event village is free for supporters, so friends and family are welcome to soak up the atmosphere and cheer runners on.
Please note that parking charges (£5 per car) do apply so we recommend car sharing where possible.
How do you keep Junior events safe?
Safety is fundamental to Wolf Run. Backed by 15 years of experience, we are a well-established and respected brand known for delivering safe, professionally run events.
We have a fully equipped, state-of-the-art medical tent on site, staffed by qualified medical professionals, including multiple doctors and nurses, throughout the event. While they mostly spend their day treating grazes, bumps, we deliberately invest heavily in this area to ensure the highest level of care is always available.
Every obstacle is staffed by experienced marshals, many of whom return year after year. Marshals are positioned at every obstacle and key point on the course and are in constant radio contact with event crew, managers and the medical team, so support is never far away.
Our event teams are fully trained in health and safety, from building to event management, with clear procedures in place across the course and event village. This experience, combined with careful course layout and design, means Junior Wolf events consistently operate with very low injury rates.
Junior courses are specifically designed for children. They do not include the more extreme adult obstacles such as high nets, long lake swims or larger slides. Obstacles are built to be age-appropriate, well supervised and built with safety in mind.
Importantly, the event is non-competitive, and children are never pressured to do anything they don’t want to do. Any obstacle can be skipped, no questions asked, and adults are welcome to support and encourage children at their own pace.
Our aim is to create a fun, confidence-building adventure where children feel supported, safe and proud of what they achieve.
